Retired Air Marshal Jeetendra Mishra Named First CEO of Ram Temple Trust

Lucknow, SEPT 2: Retired Air Marshal Jeetendra Mishra, who played a key role in commanding air operations during Operation Sindoor, has been selected as the first Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, which oversees the Ram Temple in Ayodhya

The appointment was announced on Wednesday following the Trust's selection process to establish a dedicated CEO position for managing its expanding administrative and operational responsibilities.

Mishra brings more than three decades of experience in the Indian Air Force and served as the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Western Air Command before retiring in April 2026. His leadership during Operation Sindoor and his experience in strategic planning, coordination and large-scale operations were among the factors relevant to his selection.

Jeetendra Mishra has been appointed as the first Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust after a thorough two-month selection process. Beginning with an overwhelming 5,585 applications, the selection involved several levels of scrutiny, including online and in-person interviews conducted by a three-member panel in Ayodhya. Mishra’s extensive military background played a pivotal role in his selection, signifying the Trust's preference for strong leadership and administrative capabilities. As CEO, he will be responsible for overseeing the ongoing construction and future management of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, a project of immense national significance. His duties will include coordination across various stakeholders, ensuring timely project completion, and upholding the sanctity and operational efficiency of the temple complex. The appointment marks a crucial step in institutionalizing the temple's administration and ensuring professional management of the revered site.

As the Trust's first full-time CEO, Mishra is expected to oversee the temple complex's administrative functioning, coordination of various activities and the management of its growing operational requirements.

His appointment comes as the Ayodhya temple complex continues to expand and attract large numbers of pilgrims, increasing the need for a structured and professional administrative mechanism.
